Carly Messner, MOT, OTR/L, RYT
As a pediatric occupational therapist, yoga instructor and nature lover, it is my dream to offer mindful, child-led, natural teachings to youth with special needs. I have a rich background in health and human development with over 12 years of experience working with infants, children, adults and the elderly with a wide range of abilities in various settings including early intervention, schools, hospitals, behavioral health, home health, residential facilities, outpatient clinics and skilled nursing facilities. In 2009, I graduated with a Master's in Occupational Therapy from Pacific University of Oregon and started my career working with infants and children in their natural settings (home and preschool). I then traveled and gained experience in pediatric clinics in Alaska and South Dakota. I gained a myriad of experiences and new treatment approaches at a psychiatric hospital for adults and children. I have advanced training in Autism diagnostics (ADOS-2), sensory processing, and bowel & bladder incontinence. In addition, I am a registered Yoga Instructor with Yoga Alliance, and proudly offer holistic yoga classes for children and adults with a focus on health and stress reduction for persons of all abilities. When I'm not working or teaching you'll likely find me camping, gardening, chasing my toddler or trying a new recipe with my husband.
