Occupational Therapy
DIRFloortime®
At Whole Child Wellness, play isn’t just a means, it an end! Play is a child’s most important occupation. Through play, children can learn to regulate their nervous system, become better communicators, and learn to solve problems big and small! Using a DIRFloortime® framework, we use the power of relationships and emotional connections to fuel development to help everyone reach their fullest potential!
SENSORY INTEGRATION
Sensory integration therapy aims to enable children with sensory challenges to accurately detect, regulate, and interpret sensations and respond appropriately to sensations so that children are able to perform everyday activities with more independence.
Your occupational therapist serves as a coach, educator, and role model while you actively participate in every session and learn helpful strategies for home, school, and the community during your child’s OT sessions.
PELVIC FLOOR THERAPY
Incontinence is the inability to control one’s bladder and bowels. It can be emotionally challenging for children and their families, impacting home, school and extra-curricular activities. Our occupational therapist has had specialized training to help children develop or improve their toileting skills and considers the whole child in relation to this often overlooked and important daily skill!
PEDIATRIC FEEDING THERAPY
Your child may need Feeding Therapy if they experience difficulties with eating, such as picky eating, gagging, choking, or sensory sensitivities around food. Feeding Therapy supports children in developing safe and comfortable eating habits, improving oral motor skills, and expanding food acceptance to ensure they receive proper nutrition. At Whole Child Wellness, our compassionate therapists work closely with your child to create a personalized plan that makes mealtime a positive and stress-free experience.
